Brac and Hvar (Croatia)
- Wednesday, May 27 2015
Brač and Hvar are two islands in central Dalmatia and are the emblematic communities of the Croatian Mediterranean Diet.
Brac is the largest of the islands, has an area of around 395 km2, with a population of 13.000 inhabitants, while Hvar covers almost around 300 km2, with about 12.000 inhabitants.
Thanks to their healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet, the islands of Brac and Hvar have become part of the UNESCO list of communities emblematic of the Mediterranean diet in 2013. Not surprisingly, fresh fish, seafood, vegetables, wine and fruit are in the diet of Dalmatia.
